What is "Eating Mindfully"?
"When we are mindful, we recognize what we are picking
up. When we put it into our mouth, we know what we are putting into our
mouth. When we chew it, we know what we are chewing. It's very simple."
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Eating Mindfully is a simple act, but there are a few ideas to consider:
Your personal eating and activity habits - There is no such thing as a "one size fits all" diet plan. Your individual body has individual needs.
Your personal health - There are certain dietary considerations that should be acknowledged depending on whether or not you have a pre-existing health condition, are an endurance athlete, or if you just want to maintain your health.
The health of others and the health of the planet - Recognizing the concept of "interbeing" when making choices about what and how you consume food.
Your values - Your personal beliefs and the things that are important to you influence decisions as to what you eat.
The value of food - Awareness of the energy it takes to produce food, the circumstances surrounding the growth/production of the food, the transportation used to receive the food, and the flavor and health benefits of the food.
